Breton Basket

  • Large round Breton basket created using the coiled weave technique. Made at a basketmaking workshop led by Windrush Willow in September 2018, this basket is a replica of a basket originating from Brittany, France. Originally used to carry sardines to market, Windrush Willow painstakingly worked out this unusual basket's recipe and taught us how to make them using their lovely homegrown willow.
  • Detail of Breton basket from above, showing it's unusual 'buttonhole' centre.
