Basketmaking Workshop at Somerset Rural Life Museum 3rd October

Basketmaking Workshop at Somerset Rural Life Museum 3rd October

5 amazing beginners, all very happy with their baskets (and so they should be, they’re brilliant!)  A real moral boosting workshop for all, including myself.  It was just so lovely to be among amazing smiley students and wonderful supportive staff.

Having now taught several willow weaving workshops since the beginning of September, I’m finally getting used to teaching with all the Covid guidelines, including donning a face visor, and I must have the most sanitised hands ever!

Somerset Rural Life Museum in Glastonbury, Somerset is so worth a visit.  Inside, the exhibits really convey the feel of past Somerset life and outside you get to gaup at the magnificence of the Abbey barn.  Thank you to Susie, Sue and all the SRLM team whose dedication and love of the museum is so evident.

In the heart of Somerset, withy growing country, rich basketry heritage… this is where basketmaking needs to be.

Hopefully I’ll be teaching more basketmaking workshops here next year, it’ll be an honour!
