Both chic and celebratory, this Brit ‘B’ Basket is Sarah’s bold contemporary interpretation of a traditional English Berry Basket.
Perfect as an occasional handbag, for carrying your work lunch or even to be used for it's original purpose of collecting berries! Dyed blue willow creates a basket that just bursts with colour, life and celebrates our 'Brit'ish craft tradition.
Each Brit 'B' Berry Basket is unique, handwoven and made using natural white (stripped Black Maul) willow, locally sourced from the Somerset Levels.
The blue willow is either indigo dyed willow that Sarah has developed and created through the process of natural vat fermentation or through her more recent experiments with cyanotype dyeing, creating a Prussian blue shade. Red leather handle, brass fixings.
Traditional English underfoot tied slath base, stake & strand basket, English rand weave.
First created in 2023, the Brit ‘B’ basket, (‘B’ stands for berry!) has become part of the ‘B’ basket collection that includes the 2022 Original ‘B’ basket, 2024 Twist ‘B’ basket and 2025 Meadow “B’ Basket.
Please note that due to indigo and cyanotype dyed willow varying in shade, each Brit ‘B’ basket is unique in colouration. If you specifically wish for a lighter or darker blue shade please say when purchasing. Also, whilst both dyes have been ‘fixed’, please treat like you would denim material.
