Encapsulating style and practicability, Sarah has evolved the round Ose form into what she believes to be it’s ideal size and shape. Perfect for use as a handbag or as a very chic shopping basket.
Having developed creating indigo dyed willow through a natural vat fermentation process, Sarah has chosen to contrast and blend shades of this distinctive colour, in so doing accentuating the beautiful rhythm and flow of this basket.
Handwoven using natural white (stripped Black Maul) willow variety, locally sourced from the Somerset Levels.
Known as an Ose, Gathering, Hen or Skye basket, and documented across Europe since Medieval times, this frame basket involves weaving willow rods around a series of hoops and ribs.
Please note that due to indigo dyed willow varying in shade, each Ose basket is unique in colouration. Also, whilst the indigo dye has been ‘fixed’, please treat like you would denim material.
