This 2 day workshop will enable you to make your perfect shopping or laundry basket with traditional methods including the rare oval underfoot tied slath base and an integral or Somerset apple picker handle.
Use willow locally grown on the Somerset Levels.
LEARN: A Traditional English underfoot tied slath base, the pull down wale method, a 3 rod chasing wale weave, an English rand side weave, a 5 behind 2 rod border and an integral handle or Somerset apple picker handle.
You will also learn how to grow, harvest and prepare your willow ready for weaving.
ABILITY: Ideal for those with a little more basket weaving experience or for adventurous beginners!
VENUE: Chevithorne Village Hall, Chevithorne, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 7PU.
TIME: 9.15 arrival for 9.30am start. 5.30pm finish (approximately).
