New for Autumn 2025! Create your very own willow shoulder bag. Designed by Sarah so that you can successfully achieve in a day a lovely chic bag that features the stylish diagonal / Irish side weave.
This versatile bag can be finished with a long leather shoulder strap or with two smaller handles made into a perfect sized lunch bag (30cm × 15cm).
You’ll be creating your bag with willow locally grown on the Somerset Levels.
LEARN: An introduction into making willow shoulder bags. How to make a rectangular frame platter base, a 3 rod wale weave, a reverse 3 rod wale weave, the diagonal / Irish side weave, a 4 behind 2 rod border and how to create leather shoulder straps.
ABILITY: Suitable for both adventurous beginners and those with existing willow weaving experience. Also great for basketmakers who are exploring making willow shoulder bags.
VENUE: Chevithorne Village Hall, Chevithorne, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 7PU.
TIME: 9.15 arrival for 9.30am start. 5.45pm finish (approximately).
