Want to know about my latest courses and what I’m up to?

Extract below taken from my latest publicity email – sent out via MailChimp on the 6th June.

“Hello!
I’m now taking bookings for the 16 Willow Animal & Basket Sculpture Days that I will be teaching September – December 2019 at Coates English Willow on the Somerset Levels.

Find all the details, including how to book your Willow Sculpture Day by heading to my courses page.  I also want to let you know my latest news, including details of other courses that I will be running across the South West.

Courses:  The fantastic resurgence of interest in heritage craft and sustainability that we are currently experiencing is giving me the brilliant opportunity to increasingly teach basket making.  These include workshops at River Cottage HQ near Axminster, Dorset, where on the 3rd July and 18th September you have the opportunity to make a lovely rectangular basket that I have created especially for River Cottage and that includes their own willow.  On the 16th November I will be teaching at the Somerset Rural Life Museum Glastonbury, again a bespoke basket making workshop that will showcase local techniques.  Updates for these, and for others, including my ongoing RHS workshops can be found throughout the year on my website.

News:  I’ve now started my much longed for training with Eddie Barnard.  Eddie is a 4th generation master craftsman and one of the last of the great commercial basketmakers on the Somerset Levels.  To be able on a regular basis to finally advance and hone my skills, to learn Eddie’s techniques and make baskets that originate from this area is a once in a lifetime opportunity.  I will be sharing my training experience with you in a new dedicated blog on my website, you are more than welcome to follow my progress!  It is only through you supporting my Willow Animal Sculpture Days that I am able to afford this training, I’m very grateful, thank you.

Taking on my Weaving Willow Campervan has been quite an experience!  I’ve now got her mechanically sound and watertight, so finally I can turn my attention to the interior.  Aiming to showcase and promote traditional English basketry techniques, in beautiful white willow I will be focusing upon square work.  A brilliant opportunity for me to be really creative and practice, practice, practice!  You can follow my weaving adventures at my Weaving Willow Camper blog at my website news page.

Gift Vouchers: I do offer my own Gift Voucher Service.  These increasingly popular vouchers make ideal birthday and anniversary gifts for family, friends or colleagues.  They also enable priority booking.  You can find out about my gift vouchers in more detail by heading to www.sarahlebreton.co.uk/courses

I do hope that you will be joining me later this year to create fantastic willow baskets and animals!

Best wishes, Sarah”                         www.sarahlebreton.co.uk
